TeachHER - a Lesson, but Learn it :

Childhood is a lovely piece of Art for it is a class Apart. It is an enchanted stage where colours are brighter, air feels softer and the mornings look brighter. There is a generous garden in every child’s heart which is the reason why they are most often sentenced to kindergarten (Children's Garden-GERMAN).

We plan our lives according to a dream that came to us in our childhood, and we find that life alters our plans. And yet in the end, we see that our dream was our fate. It's just that providence had other ideas as to how we would get there. Destiny plans a different route, or turns the dream around as if it was a riddle and fulfils the dream in ways we couldn't have expected.

Herein I am bringing a story about a 10 Year old, the worth of whom is more than rolled gold…a small tender age, a sensitive innocent, average student studying may be in his 5th stage of schooling.

The story starts with a memory test being scheduled during his school fest where he had won a 3rd prize with a spirited Zest, the boy was very happy about his achievement and was waiting for “D-day” to seize his prize, not to mention that he had organized for the photographer to flick a click when he receives his prize on the stage.

But unfortunately for him, there were 3 students of the same name and for the madam who was taking the winners name had put him out of frame by taking the name of the student she liked the most and gave him all the fame; now the small joy who had come with his father to conquer the prize toy was totally devastated and annoyed by himself since he did not receive the prize from the chief guest. The poor boy who was full of coy then went to madam and asked for the clarification as to, Who won the Prize..?

The Grumpy madam grudgingly told the little cutie pie that it was for intelligent students “not for him” and walked away within a blink of an eye. The boy after a while got to know that the eluded prize was his which he humbly received after 2 days with a smile from one of his favourite teacher. But the recognition for the cute honey was stale and money spent for photo capture ended as a horror.

Times rolled out and the boy won the first prize in the so called memory test for the next two years when his class teacher was the same madam who had denied him the chance of winning the 3rd prize. The boy absented himself from the award distribution function and received it from his favourite teacher for that year and when asked by his class teacher as to why he didn’t show up the boy replied politely that he believed “It was for intelligent students and not for him”.

This friends is a simple true Story that happened in front of my eyes which shows how Self-Confidence and Self-motivation can help people….to achieve their Goals. By the way I still remember those 24 items…
Blue ribbon, duster, chalk, cotton, tennis ball, tiffin box, Hero pen, wool, Mender(sharpner), rope, handkerchief, water can, Box, orange baloon, wrist watch, purse, key bunch, Specks, Chocolate, tape, Scissors, plaster, book & Flower.

With all this info I am not trying 2 boast about myself, this simple sample never does that, but for me my prize the “Stainless Steel Glass” still means my life. It is my OSCAR it speaks about my dream, my goal, my feat, my confidence...because I was still a small child & was hurt very badly but I never boggled down, never got into depression mode… I always took it as a challenge not revenge. Coz I was to prove my worth to myself not for anybody. I was to be blamed if I was an average student not anyone else.

Hence from that period of time I started to sharpen up my memory by remembering things/events/objects n fine tune my mind for anything & everything till my Memory test arrived. Now this curse I had, has indeed turned out to be a blessing in disguise to keep in track the MEMORY of modules/lessons/friends cell phone numbers/characters. etc., It has also helped me in staying FOCUSSED in every work I do, “Perform under Pressure” and to “Never lose my Cool or get Irritated” for simple things which seems complicated…

After this incident unfortunately I have never won any other prize in my life in any event except a prize called “self-confidence” which will stay with me for my life time because I believe in loving to participate & give my best in whatever I like for passion sake and not for prize sake… I believe if you are good in something you don’t deserve a prize to prove it that you are good, for it is the prize which should deserve you..

With this story I would like to communicate all of my friends and enemies that “If u have a passion, an ambition run behind it and never bow down until and unless you achieve it(smugglers excuse)” have confidence in yourself and faith in God whatever the situation…and Live 2 Love whatever work that excites you …without leaving it…at any stage and without blaming anyone…because people never point their fingers at a perfect person in this imperfect world…So live your life with a Zeal, hope for the Best Coz with time all the scars will Heal and take care of the Rest….Happy life everyone.. ;-)

A Childhood Choleria called Cricket :

In India cricket is a “Religion”, loved and lived by the Blue Billion. I too am one of that small drop of rain who had passion for the game which offered many with name and fame.

For a start, we could only get to listen to the radio during 1989 which was the only means of mass communication that time. I dint’ even know what cricket was, nor did I know it needs a bat, ball & wicket etc., but was still cheering “Go Team India” without even getting to know that the match was over & India had lost the match.

It was 1992 which brought me closer to the game, thanks to TV and neighbours time(permission). I simply loved to watch cricket especially the bowling of a legend called Wasim Akram in WC Semi’s which had greatly influenced me to become more a Bowler than a Batsman.

Year 1993, when I was in 4th, Mom brought me a big wooden bat which was of my height & weight. Myself and Jack were the best of good enemies at our own Eden garden (Bus Depot Ground) which was dominated by Rashan (5-6yrs senior), the then reincarnation of Kieron Pollard who had bruised and blasted our bowling. He still owes us 10-15 balls which me n jack have not forgotten.

It was in 1994, most of my friends and me were busy in academics and often dint’ find time to play the game except occasionally, that we played on the terrace of my house where me n jack-ass fought, abused and tore each others shirts and UG's which forced my crazy cranium to play alone indoors, usually I used to throw the ball to the wall and play on rebound and the weirdest thing is that I have played rebound ball cricket in my Tennis Racket, Shuttle-cock bat, Long plastic scale and even with a small folded Mat.

I still remember the wall plastering craters that I have created after throwing tennis, rubber and even synthetic cork onto the wall with many a bowler’s bowling action and imitation. These insane and absurd acts have in turn benefitted me in being an ambidextrous player (in bowling, batting and fielding). It was initially difficult to cope up with since the out-swing would become in-swing and leggie would become an off after rebound, it was like bowling kumble’s googlies to get leg-spin and also that the reaction time for batsman was less than a second in my case since a stupid moron like me had to hold both bat and ball in each hand and play…

This naïve nature of mine had also created my own SPL(Suhas Premiere League) during that time, I used to make 4 teams, all balanced, international players combo using the players trump card which I had. But unfortunately I myself was all those virtual international players ie, bowler to my batsman(ie., my wall), and batsman to my bowler (ball rebound)…and also a fielder..Oh God..! I seem insane don’t I…?

Had my fielders allocated who were most often my doors or pillows or chairs on which if the batsman hits the rebound ball he will be out caught, my wickets were most often shoe boxes stacked one above the other.

It was these creative acts of mine which improved both my batting and bowling skills to be a complete all rounder. Wherever we used to go I was among the best fast bowler’s list be it in school, college, street and the likes.. I had developed new types of skiddy balls with three finger seam position, fast spinner, in-cutter etc.,

As days progressed (end of schooling) we had to shift our concentration towards our academia and our most lovable passion began to decline, especially during engineering where i had lost my amazing batting qualities that was imbibed in me from my guru (my indoor wall) to play, torture and win the betting’s with my friends for playing for longer hours without getting out like that of my favourite Rahul (another wall).

As years passed by, our Eden garden ground was replaced by tall structures which served as one of the many hindrances and the availability of Cric 2002 computer game and other suppliments had in turn blocked our “Childhood Choleria called CRICKET”.

It is now that i am only connected to cricket psychologically rather than physically thanks to that BITCH(female dog) that caused my leg injury which affected me to loose my chance to play in inter college fest during my MBA.

The Leg injury of mine is still a barrier for my game play esp., my bowling; but whatever uncertainty the future may offer, for me the memories of cricket and childhood, the great dives, ball searches and throws of our Mr.Convertible Jonty called Guldi, the big tussles & fast Yorkers/bouncers of Jack “Bret lee” or My bowling vs Raghu’s or Madhu’s batting skills…and my indoor conquest of sachin’s wicket will always be there to Cherish for a long long time… ;-)

All of my uncles and aunts never left me for the floor and always played with me, they always feed me with food because my mummy was going for the bank work in the morning too evening. My Grand father and Grand mother also cared me with their love and affection, but still I say to u that my grand father has hit me many times than any other people because he was a retired head master and did not want anyone to forget that. I still remember he beat me with mulberry branches many days after cutting it from my neighbour house Tree.

But I say in pride that I have never been hit by my dad, not even once for any wrong I done in my child hood even though I dood many wrong in my child hood. May be because of this I loosed my hope of my daddy beating me and I have stopped doing any wrongs as I growed old. This is all my introduction as how, why and what I am…
